An old saying goes, the best way to stop an addiction, is to never start. But unlike drugs and other addicting habits, video games can slowly take control. They look harmless at first, but suddenly you find yourself playing more and more until it gets out of control. As mentioned in "The Problem", the first treatment centre for video game addiction has arrived. A clinic has opened in Amsterdam, in The Netherlands. Keith Bakker, the Director of the clinic, reports since January 2006 over 20 video game addicts aged 13 to 30 have been treated. Their methods of treating video game addiction is quite simple, they re-introduce moderation to their patients. Moderation is the key to many addictions, just like a balanced diet for losing weight. Too much of anything is eventually bad for you. There is so much more to life than just video games, and that’s what video game addicts need to grasp and apply it to their life.
